Our Story
Melinda is a problem-solver at heart and loves to find the perfect solution for her clients’ needs.
Owned and operated by Melinda Richter in Peterborough, Ontario, Canada, Curated has provided clients in Peterborough and the Kawarthas with sales and valuations of their personal property since 2014.
Curated began as a small boutique in Peterborough’s Charlotte Mews, offering a selection of art, antiques, and local handmade items, and hosting a variety of artist-led workshops and performances. As an accredited personal property appraiser, Melinda offered her clients valuations of items they brought into the shop. She soon recognized that her clients were looking for a full service for their collections: a way to learn more about their items, get some advice on what to do with them, and have a venue to sell them.
Melinda now offers personalized collection management services. She loves discovering the personal and historical significance of her clients’ treasured objects and helping them decide what to keep, sell or donate based on research into the current market.
In 2019, Curated added an online auction option for clients who are moving, downsizing, managing estates or looking to rehome a few treasures. Curated Auctions provides swift, seamless sales of art, antiques, and vintage items, and access to specialized worldwide markets for consignors.
In 2020, Curated opened a small booth at Nostalgic Journey, a multi-vendor antiques store just outside of Peterborough on Highway 7. Some consignment sales are now offered through the booth.

Qualifications
Melinda Richter holds a Bachelor of Arts from Wilfred Laurier University, a Master's of Arts from the University of Toronto, and a Graduate Certificate in Museum Management and Curatorship from Fleming College. She is a current member of the Canadian Personal Property Appraisers Group and is USPAP compliant.
